Aorta-right atrial tunnel in an adult.

چکیده
Aorta-right atrial tunnel was diagnosed in a non-symptomatic 31-year old female patient. The Q p /Q s ratio was 2.5. Computed tomography and intraoperative views showed a posterior vascular tunnel with left aortic sinus and right atrium openings (Figs 1 and 2). The tunnel had no myocardial branches. We successfully closed both the openings. Figure 1: (A) A reconstructed computed tomographic view of the aorta-right atrial tunnel, which passed along the posterior aspect of the aorta (arrows indicate the tunnel). (B) The aortic origin of the aorta-right atrial tunnel (arrow indicates the origin of the tunnel where a surgical aspirator is situated). (C) The right atrial opening of the tunnel (arrow indicates the opening of the tunnel).

An unusual case of aorta-right atrial tunnel with windsock aneurysm: imaging, diagnosis and treatment.
The first successfully diagnosed and treated case of aorta-right atrial tunnel was reported by Coto et al. in 1980. The most common cause of aorta-right atrial tunnel is a ruptured aneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysms had been reported as early as 1840 by Thurnam; these were diagnosed at autopsy. With the advances in radiology, many cases of aorta-right atrial tunnel h...
متن کاملA Case of Aorta-Right Atrial Tunnel Presented with an Asymptomatic Murmur
Aorta-right atrial tunnel is a rare and distinct congenital anomaly. It is a vascular channel that originates from one of the sinuses of Valsalva with a tortuous course anterior or posterior to the ascending aorta, and terminates either in the superior vena cava or in the right atrium (RA). We report a 42-year-old female briefly with aorta-right atrial tunnel in which the left coronary artery a...

OBJECTIVE Aorta-right atrial tunnel is a rare and distinct congenital anomaly. To the spectrum of aorta-right atrial communications, we want to add this separate entity of aorta-right atrial tunnel by presenting the clinical features, morphologic aspects, diagnostic criteria, surgical techniques, and outcome in various clinical settings for better understanding of this developmentally intriguin...
متن کاملA Rare Case of Aortico-Right Ventricular Tunnel Along with Ventricular Septal Defect Presented as Ruptured Sinus of Valsalva in an Adult Female
Background: Aortico-right ventricular tunnel is an extremely rare congenital defect rarely described in an infant. This diagnosis is likely to be missed due to its rare entity and similar clinical presentations with other aortico-right ventricular communications like ruptured sinus of valsalva. Methods: We report a case of previously undiagnosed aortico-right ventricular tunnel along with a per...

Aorta—right atrial tunnel is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by an extracardiac tunnel-like vascular communication arising from an aortic sinus and emptying into the right atrium (RA) (Fig. 1). We report the case of a 33-year-old man diagnosed following Streptococcus viridans endocarditis. The patient underwent successful surgical repair (Fig. 2). The proximal ostiumwas closed using a p...
